Definition of "Opacity" by Graphic Design Newcastle:

Opacity refers to the degree to which an object or layer in a design is non-transparent. In graphic design and digital imaging, opacity is typically measured on a scale from 0% to 100%:

  • 100% opacity means the object is completely opaque (not see-through at all).
  • 0% opacity means the object is fully transparent (completely invisible).
  • Values in between allow varying levels of transparency, enabling designers to blend elements, create depth, or achieve specific visual effects.

Opacity is commonly adjusted in design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other digital art tools.
